LA CRUZ VERDE (THE GREEN CROSS)
La Cruz Verde is a non-profit community project offering a unique experience in an inspiring place. The centre was founded in 2020, by Mr. Frédéric Bordier alongside the Carmen Florida indigenous community. La Cruz verde aims to create a rehabilitation centre for wild animals and care for the surrounding environment and community.
The main idea behind the project is to create an inspiring place, focusing on the conservation of nature and the health and education of the community members. Educating the community on sustainable practise, while respecting their local traditions and customs, can help sustain the environment long-term.
After 3 years of experience working with wild animals and learning about the beauties and deficiencies in the populations of the indigenous communities. Frédéric decided to build La Cruz Verde, together with the Carmen Florida Community. In a historic agreement, Frédéric has been welcomed as a community member and borrowed the land for the centre. As a first step, objectives have been set and the creation of the centre is underway.
Additionally, a health fund has been created through the contributions from volunteers. This fund is accessible to community members in cases of emergencies, accidents and illnesses. Education and training courses such as Tacana, English, Math and environmental education will be offered. These classes will be delivered by local teachers and volunteers.
